Hello 4th grade family and friends! My name is Melody Lin and this will be my first year teaching at CHIME! I received my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara and obtained my Teaching Credential from CSUN. I am excited to transfer all that I have learned into my own classroom. I strongly believe that every child deserves a right to an education that interests and motivates them to succeed. When I am not Miss Lin, I enjoy spending time eating with my family and friends, traveling to new places, being outdoors, and watching reruns of Friends. I look forward to meeting each and every bright 4th grader and hope that my passion of learning rubs off on them!
Greetings Fourth Grade Families!
My name is, Katherine Smith! I am tremendously excited to be joining the fourth grade team as a co-teacher this year! I have over 15 years of experience working both in the public, and private, sectors of education. I hold a Clear Education Specialist teaching credential and Masters degree from California State University Northridge. I have also been involved in teacher leadership across the country through my work with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. One of my deepest passions in life has been working with children and families. I know together we can guide children in meeting their individual potential. I see myself as a facilitator of your child’s learning and strive to create a healthy environment where your child can develop their inner self as while as their identity in the community. I would like to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s life and sharing in the mission of CHIME with me. I look forward to building a collaborative relationship with you and being an educator in your child’s life.
In my personal time I enjoy both peaceful and adventurous joys in life. On the weekends you can find me at a lake, on a beach or in the mountains enjoying nature and spending time with loved ones. In addition to the outdoors I enjoy yoga, gardening, volunteering and reading. When I am not relaxing I am adventure seeking. I love to travel! I have been swimming with sharks, zip lining, cave exploring, and skydiving. I am as passionate about living as I am teaching and look forward to the adventures this school year has to bring.
I am eager to meet each of you and I know we are going to have a wonderful year at CHIME! Feel free to contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org .
I am Natalie Melanson and will be starting my 10th year teaching at CHIME. This will be my 7th year teaching 4th grade and I am looking forward to another successful year! I enjoy hanging out with my boyfriend, friends and family, going to the beach, doing yoga, cooking, and watching football (GO BRONCOS!) with my dog Miss Penny Lane. I believe strongly in community; a place where all students of varied abilities are valued members, educated together and work in a collaborative manner to learn from one another.
Hi, I’m Mrs. Keely Arevalo. I began my career as an educator at CHIME Charter School in September of 2010. I earned my bachelor's degree in child development from California State University, Northridge in 2009 and continued my education at CSUN to earn my credential in moderate to severe special education in 2010. I completed my fieldwork at CHIME Charter Middle School and fell in love with the CHIME community during this experience. To date, I have been a co-teacher in Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades and I’m looking forward to co-teaching in grades 3rd through 5th for the upcoming school year. I believe that all students, regardless of ability, should be educated alongside their peers and I appreciate CHIME for this reason. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband, daughter Sloane, and beautiful baby girl Scarlett.
Hello fourth grade! My name is Alisha, a.k.a. Miss Maynor. I am excited to begin my 3rd year here at CHIME with the spectacular fourth grade team. As a teacher I strive to create a safe, community environment where students make connections to the curriculum through hands-on learning experiences. In the end I hope for my students to leave on the path to becoming lifelong learners. When I am not teaching, my passions include traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy many outdoor sports including softball, snowboarding, dirt biking, and playing beach volleyball. I am looking forward to a great year in fourth grade here at CHIME and can't wait to meet all of you. Here's to a SPECTACULAR year!
