Hello 4th grade family and friends! My name is Melody Lin and this will be my second year teaching at CHIME! I received my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara and obtained my Teaching Credential from CSUN. I am excited to transfer all that I have learned into my own classroom. I strongly believe that every child deserves a right to an education that interests and motivates them to succeed. When I am not Miss Lin, I enjoy spending time eating with my family and friends, traveling to new places, being outdoors, and watching reruns of Friends. I look forward to meeting each and every bright 4th grader and hope that my passion of learning rubs off on them!
I've been an educator since 2001, working both as a general education classroom teacher and as a learning specialist. I hold a Master's degree in Linguistics with an emphasis in Communication Disorders, as well as a post-master's certification in Educational Therapy. Prior to CHIME, I was the Director of Student Support at a local private school. In my spare time, I enjoy the beach, reading, eating at vegan restaurants, animal activism, and spending time with my children.
I am Natalie Melanson and will be starting my 11th year teaching at CHIME. This will be my 7th year teaching 4th grade and I am looking forward to another successful year! I enjoy hanging out with my boyfriend, friends and family, going to the beach, doing yoga, cooking, and watching football (GO BRONCOS!) with my dog Miss Penny Lane. I believe strongly in community; a place where all students of varied abilities are valued members, educated together and work in a collaborative manner to learn from one another.
Hello fourth grade! My name is Alisha, a.k.a. Miss Maynor. I am excited to begin my 4th year here at CHIME with the spectacular fourth grade team. As a teacher I strive to create a safe, community environment where students make connections to the curriculum through hands-on learning experiences. In the end I hope for my students to leave on the path to becoming lifelong learners. When I am not teaching, my passions include traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy many outdoor sports including softball, snowboarding, dirt biking, and playing beach volleyball. I am looking forward to a great year in fourth grade here at CHIME and can't wait to meet all of you. Here's to a SPECTACULAR year!
I am Caitlin Healey and this is my second year teaching at CHIME. I am so excited to join the community! I am a Moderate/Severe Education Specialist who spent the last six years teaching in Oakland Unified School District.
I grew up on the east coast and earned my undergraduate degree at Mount Holyoke College. In 2011, I earned my teaching credential through the Oakland Teaching Fellows program. In 2015 I completed a master's degree in Education Leadership at Mills College in Oakland.
Working with students of all abilities and providing a meaningful, inclusive and fun educational experience is my passion. I also love spending time with my boyfriend and friends, hiking, traveling, running, and reading on the sofa with my cats and a cup of coffee.
